    Workout in centuries old settings, kayak the Athenian Riviera reaching the majestic temple of Poseidon, see Santorini and Crete by sea on this perfectly-designed journey through some of the most remarkable highlights of Greece. Hike along Santorini’s  crater’s edge with unbelievable sea views and winding coastal paths and Crete’s impressive gorges, take in the sun-soaked countryside and expansive fields of olive groves and grapevines and sample local wines and fresh produce while learning the secrets of the world famous and healthy Greek cuisine in a cooking class.

    A good level of fitness and experience is required. Participants should be comfortable in water and able to swim. 

    Grade and terrain

    Although the paths are quite well-kept the terrain in Greece tends to be sometimes stony and rocky, especially during the Imbros gorge walking on this particular tour.


    Day 1Welcome to Athens! Walking tour of the historic Plaka

    Arrive in Athens and transfer to our hotel located near the historic center of Greece’s capital! Early this evening we meet in the hotel lobby for introductions, followed by a short walking tour in the city’s oldest neighborhood, Plaka! Its narrow lanes and stepped alleys, little squares with small churches, lively shops and cafes, and grand neoclassical-style houses are delightful, picturesque and inspiring! Welcome dinner is at a Greek tavern serving delicious traditional home cooked-style meals.

    Day 2“Work off jet lag!” - Athens by bike

    What better way to work off the jet lag than a morning work out in the Athenian National Gardens!
    From there, we will take our bikes and head towards the most important highlights such as the National Observatory, the Ancient Greek cemetery (Kerameikos), Thission neighborhood, the Ancient Greek Agora, the Roman Agora, the Athens’ Orthodox Cathedral, Zappeion Hall, the Panathenaic stadium and much more!
    At the Panathenaic stadium, we will have the opportunity for another workout in a unique setting, giving us our own moment of Olympic glory and excitement!
    Our cycling experience will end at Acropolis, where we will enter this world famous location for a private tour by our professional guide. Next stop the Acropolis museum and its amazing artifacts, ideal place for our meal at its breathtaking veranda!
    Back to our hotel for some freshening up and evening walk to Lycabettus to experience the” golden hour” of Athens and its wonderful sunset!

    Day 3Athens Sea Kayak

    Prepare yourselves for the one and only sea kayaking experience that Athens has to offer, our amazing Athens Sea Kayak tour! Be the lucky ones and admire stunning views from the seaside along the Athenian Riviera all the way to Cape Sounio and the famous Temple of Poseidon.
    After a short but necessary introductory lesson, containing important directions for your safety and the smooth conduct of the activity, we will begin our rowing adventure, having as our end point the Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounio.
    The beaches along our way create the ideal scenery for some beach workouts, followed by a refreshing swim and snorkeling! En route we will also enjoy our picnic meal made by Greek produce!
    Towards the end of our paddling part for today, we will have the opportunity to approach the Temple of Poseidon by the sea just like the ancient travelers did, a truly breathtaking and life-lasting memory! One can actually feel the energy of this sacred and very important monument and location.
    After leaving our sea kayaks at the beach, we will head towards the temple and enjoy the beauty of the archaeological site.

    Day 4 Santorini - Cooking class

    In the morning we will board a high-speed ferry at Piraeus port and begin our Greek island hop with Santorini, the precious gem of the Aegean sea! At first glance, Santorini is unlike any other Greek island, as its cosmopolitan lifestyle and Greek culture merge with spectacular landscapes, whitewashed stone homes and breathtaking sunsets. After settling into our accommodation, we will experience a fitness session and later in the evening we will head to Megalochori village for an authentic Greek cooking class!

    Day 5Santorini Sailing Experience

    Today, after our mighty breakfast, we will embrace the beauty of Santorini and the art of sailing in the Caldera with the most magnificent views. Swim & snorkel in a quiet bay and reach the sulfuric Hot Springs of the volcano.
    We will visit the picturesque Red & White beaches and en route use every chance for a workout in a unique surrounding! Taste the exquisite local wine, beer or a refreshing beverage and indulge ourselves in a freshly prepared Greek meal, while we sit back and enjoy the breathtaking Aegean Sea, since the most stunning views of Santorini are best seen from the its crystal clear waters..
    Back to our hotel to wash off the sea salt, relax and dinner in Oia, while witnessing the world famous sunset of Santorini!

    Day 6Hike along the crater's edge (Caldera Trail)

    After our breakfast, today’s hiking adventure begins on a stone path that turns into a dirt footpath while following the edge of the caldera.The cobblestone trail follows the rim of the Caldera, taking you away from the crowds, permitting you to admire the power of the natural forces that shaped this amazing environment. The trail is guaranteed to be one of the most spectacular you’ve ever hiked so don’t forget your camera!
    Early evening ferry to Crete, a gorgeous island that harmonically combines canyons, mountains and, of course, amazing beaches. Overnight in Heraklion (B,L,D)

    Day 7 Heraklion archaeological museum – Knossos - Wine tasting

    A visit to the archaeological museum of Heraklion is a “must” since it showcases finds from all over Crete, covering a 5,500years of history! Next destination, the island’s wine-making region, where we will hike along charming villages, vineyards and olive groves ending at one of Crete’s best wineries, in order to enjoy a vineyard tour, wine tasting and lunch. Today’s journey into Crete’s ancient history will be completed with a visit to the archaeological site of Knossos, Europe’s oldest city, famous for King Minos’ mythological labyrinth, home of the Minotaur!
    On our way to Chania (2 hour’s drive) we will enjoy a rejuvenating work out on a stunning beach!

    Day 8Imbros Gorge Hike

    To go to Crete without entering a gorge would be a missed opportunity for an incredible experience, and at the southern slopes of White Mountains there is one of the most fascinating.
    The pine tree-lined Imbros gorge, is not as famous as Samaria but is in physical terms as impressive and much less crowded. Enjoy this wonderfully quiet walk, narrow and stiflingly confined in places, speckled with caves in others and at one point passing under a monumental natural stone archway. At the end of the gorge we will hop in our bus for a short ride to Frangokastello, a striking 14th century Venetian fortress on a fine stretch of a beach. Here we can wash off the gorge’s dust and enjoy our lunch overlooking the Libyan sea. Free evening on your own.

    Day 9Gramvousa Balos Private Boat Tour – Flight to Athens – Farewell dinner

    Today an amazing experience lies ahead of us! After our mighty breakfast, we will embark our private boat or a unique tour! Heading towards Gramvousa we’ll observe geological phenomena, sea caves and beautiful waters. Upon arrival at Gramvousa island we will walk up to the Venetian castle, another perfect location for our workout followed by a refreshing dip into the clear waters!
    Our next stop is Balos, one of the most beautiful places on earth! Here we will have the privilege of swimming in the shallow and warm waters and experience another “special” workout! In the afternoon we begin our journey back for our evening short flight to Athens and our farewell dinner!!

    For the Greek Island Fitness Adventure Tour please consider taking along the following items on your trip. This is not a fixed list, but more of a guideline, so feel free to add and remove items as you see fit. Greece has a temperate climate. Base your clothing on the “layering system”, if it is hot you can “peel off” layers quickly, if it is cooler and windy you can quickly “dress up”.
