Itinerary

Day 1Hills of Athens - Welcome dinner

Our first “Aegean Active Wellness Retreat” day is dedicated to Athens!
Acropolis, apart from being the city’s higher point, it was also surrounded by hills that offered protection: Pnyka hill, Areopagus (Mars hill), Philopappou hill and of course Lycabettus. Each one had their own role in ancient times and a story starting as a myth, continuing nowadays. Today we will walk from one hill to another, exploring Athens in a unique way, embracing its vibe and charm along the way. In the evening welcome dinner at an amazing rooftop restaurant.

* Depending on the time of your arrival, the Hills of Athens tour can be skipped today and implemented on day 7 or 8. In that case we can make a short walking tour of the historic Plaka and enjoy our welcome dinner!

Day 2Acropolis, Parthenon and Acropolis Museum - Athens Sea Kayak Sunset Tour

The majestic Parthenon, the Propylaia gateway and Temple of Athena Nike await you today at the top of Acropolis for a professional guided tour! Afterwards we will expand our knowledge in the new Acropolis museum, a super-modern, glass-walled building set at the footsteps of the ancient Acropolis. Its beautiful terrace is an ideal place for our lunch, before we depart from Athens towards Cape Sounio, where we will have the opportunity to experience an amazing Sea Kayaking activity that will take us to the temple of Poseidon, where we will witness a breathtaking sunset! Dinner at a sea-view restaurant!

Day 3Evia island - Wine tasting

In the morning, the bus picks us up from Athens for a 3-hour drive to Agia Anna village, which is located in Northern Evia. We settle into our accommodation and embark on the path to wellness through a yoga session. Then we can enjoy a number of optional activities such as mat Pilates, cycling, beach volleyball and dynamic exercises on the beach followed by a healthy Greek luncheon prepared by our executive chef at the traditional seaside tavern.
In the evening, we discover fine Greek wines at a local traditional winery. Our visit to these vineyards will immerse us into the history and varieties of Greek wines. Organic dinner to conclude our amazing day!

Day 4 Cooking class

We start our day early with a revitalizing yoga session followed by our breakfast buffet and an exclusive massage treatment.
Today we will learn about the “secrets” of the Greek cuisine from our chef! We’ll sample nutritious traditional Greek dishes in a fun hands-on cooking class, understand the benefits and principles of the Mediterranean diet – the healthiest and most balanced diet in the world – and of course taste delicious Greek produce!
Free time at the beach and dinner.

Day 5Magic Forest Hike

We start our day with our breakfast buffet and then board a sailboat for a 2-hour trip to lush, pine-forested Skiathos, the most popular of the Sporades islands.
There, after settling into our accommodations, we enjoy a delicious healthy lunch and pause to relax and experience the breathtaking sea view.
In the afternoon, get ready to commune with nature. A hike to Skiathos Island’s Magical Faraway Tree Forest will give you the opportunity to create unique memories. During the hike we’ll do some geocaching, in order to find hidden clues and discover the fascinating natural treasures of the forest. Back at the hotel for a thrilling sunset yoga session.
The hotel is located at Koukounaries beach, so get ready to swim in pure azure waters in tranquil, enchanting surroundings
At night we’ll have time to explore the island, walk the scenic streets and mingle with with the locals.
Overnight in Skiathos (B,L)

Day 6"Mama Mia" Sailing Tour

The day starts with breakfast at the hotel.
Then we take a sailboat to the beautiful island of Skopelos. Get ready to see the magic of the big screen in real life. Experience the Mamma Mia Tour, savor the natural beauty of the island and enjoy a wonderful combination of crystal clear waters and stunning landscapes.
We’ll have free time to walk the island and sample some food and drink at the local taverns.
At day’s end, we return to Skiathos Island for our sunset yoga and a healthy dinner prepared by our chef.

Day 7Skiathos - Athens / Farewell Dinner

Transfer from our hotel to Skiathos airport to fly back to Athens.

Recommended Gear

Please consider taking along the following items on your trip. This is not a fixed list, but more of a guideline, so feel free to add and remove items as you see fit. Greece has a temperate climate. Base your clothing on the “layering system”, if it is hot you can “peel off” layers quickly, if it is cooler and windy you can quickly “dress up”.
